Shein Returns to India Through Partnership with Reliance

Chinese fast-fashion retailer Shein has re-entered the Indian market by partnering with Reliance Retail, nearly five years after its ban in 2020. The new app, Shein India Fast Fashion, offers affordable Western-style clothing, with initial deliveries in select cities. Under the licensing agreement, Indian manufacturers will produce Shein-branded products, which will later be available on Reliance's Ajio platform. Reliance will pay a license fee for using the Shein brand name, with no equity.
