Signal App Downloads Surge Following U.S. Defense Leak Scandal

The encrypted messaging app Signal has experienced a significant increase in downloads after a U.S. defense leak scandal involving high-level officials. On the day the news broke, downloads rose by 26%, followed by 193,000 new users the next day, and an all-time high of 195,000 on the subsequent day—surpassing the average of 95,000 daily downloads. In Yemen, downloads surged by 42% in the days following the incident.
