SpaceX Acquires $17B Spectrum Licenses from EchoStar to Expand Starlink
SpaceX has secured a $17 billion deal with EchoStar to acquire AWS-4 and H-block spectrum licenses, enhancing its Starlink satellite network. The transaction includes $8.5 billion in cash and $8.5 billion in SpaceX stock, along with $2 billion in debt interest payments. A long-term partnership will enable EchoStar’s Boost Mobile users to access Starlink’s Direct-to-Cell service, expanding mobile connectivity options.
