Stuck in Red Ink: USPS Delivers a $2.5 Billion Deficit

The U.S. Postal Service posted a $2.5 billion net loss for its fiscal third quarter, despite a slight improvement over last year's $3.1 billion loss. Facing a deepening cash crisis, leadership warned that without urgent Congressional intervention or stamp price hikes, the agency may be forced to close thousands of post offices and slash service levels.
