Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has agreed to acquire World Labs, the spatial-intelligence startup founded by renowned AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock deal valued at $8.2 billion. The strategic move positions AMD to aggressively expand into "physical AI" and 3D environment simulation, with Li joining the chip giant as executive vice president and chief scientist.
