Valla Raises $2.7M to Democratize Legal Recourse for Employees

Valla, a legal-tech startup launched in 2022 by Danae Shell, secured £2 million (~$2.7 million) in seed funding led by Ada Ventures to empower median‑ and low‑wage employees with affordable legal support. Its AI-enhanced platform guides users through workplace disputes, from drafting documents to tribunal prep. Over 12,000 workers have used Valla, which plans to expand into small claims, tenancy, and new geographies using the funding.
