WhatsApp Rolls Out AI Message Summaries with Meta’s Private Processing in U.S.

WhatsApp has launched an AI-powered “Message Summaries” feature in the U.S., offering bulleted overviews of unread personal chats using Meta AI. The opt-in tool relies on Private Processing technology to ensure user privacy by processing data in a secure cloud environment, inaccessible to WhatsApp or third parties. Initially available in English, it will expand globally later this year. Users can control its use, including blocking it in group chats.
