Power Play: Spain Eases Data Center Energy Rules After Tech Pushback

Spain's Energy Ministry has unveiled a relaxed, more flexible draft decree for data center regulations following industry backlash. To protect investments in its growing AI hub, the government raised the capacity threshold for rule enforcement from 1 MW to 10 MW and extended the deadline for pairing facilities with new renewable energy capacity from 18 to 36 months.
