Powering the Cloud: Panasonic Pivots to AI Data Center Batteries in the US

Panasonic Holdings announced plans to launch mass production of battery cells for AI data center applications at its facility in Kansas by fiscal 2028. To counter slowing global electric vehicle demand and capture the surging artificial intelligence market, the company is reallocating roughly 350 billion yen ($2.18 billion) toward AI infrastructure. The specialized storage systems will provide emergency backup and stabilize volatile power grids for heavy tech servers.
