India has completely waived its 5% and 7.5% basic customs duties on critical electronic components and machinery, including display assemblies, lithium-ion battery cells, and wireless charging modules. Valid until March 2029, the sweeping tax exemption aims to lower production costs for global giants like Apple and Xiaomi, strengthen domestic supply chains, and position the country as a primary global export hub.
