Global Safety Standard: South Korea Demands Meta Extend Teen Protections Worldwide

South Korea’s media regulator, the Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC), called on Meta to roll out its new youth safety features globally rather than restricting them to specific markets. Emphasizing that social media platforms must take greater responsibility for protecting minors, the regulator highlighted that seven bills are currently pending in South Korea's parliament to enforce stricter online safety rules for teenagers.
