Google has expanded its partnership with Bill Gates-backed Fervo Energy, signing a record 396-megawatt power purchase agreement to supply 24/7 carbon-free electricity from Utah's Cape Station geothermal project. With an option to scale capacity up to 1 gigawatt by 2030, the deal helps power Google's expanding data centers while addressing growing public concern over grid strain and surging power demand.
