Off-Key AI: German Court Strikes Down Suno’s Unlicensed Hits
The Munich Regional Court ruled that AI music generator Suno violated copyright laws by training on protected tracks without permission from German licensing agency GEMA. In one of Europe's first binding generative AI decisions, the court ordered Suno to cease using the unlicensed melodies, disclose details on its illicit revenues, and pay damages to affected rights holders.
