While older Claude models operate under Zero Data Retention rules, Fable 5 holds user prompts for 30 days to run safety classifiers—creating a compliance headache for Microsoft's legal team. Paradoxically, the restriction only applies internally; Microsoft continues to roll out Fable 5 to its paying GitHub Copilot and Foundry customers.
