Zupee Cuts 170 Staff (30%) to Pivot Away from Real-Money Gaming

Zupee is laying off 170 employees—about 30% of its workforce—after India’s Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 banned real-money gaming. The company is offering financial aid (some up to six months’ pay), retaining health insurance, and setting up a ₹1 crore medical fund. It plans to shift operations toward social games and entertainment products.
