India Proposes Permitting Cross-Border Data Transfers With Certain Countries In New Privacy Bill
<p>In order to control how businesses handle user data, including allowing cross-border data exchanges with certain nations, the Indian government has suggested a new data privacy law. It may affect how tech giants like Facebook and Google process and move data. The proposed bill, if enacted, would give the federal government the authority to exclude state agencies from the law in the interests of national security while allowing firms to transmit some users&#39; data abroad.</p>
