Log Off, Kids: UAE Bans Social Media for Under-15s with Stricter Age Checks

The UAE Cabinet has officially banned children under the age of 15 from creating or using personal social media accounts. Under the new resolution, tech platforms must implement advanced, reliable age verification mechanisms—such as biometric screening or digital IDs—and have up to 12 months to comply. Parental consent cannot bypass these rules, and strict limits will also apply to users aged 15 to 16.
