Australia Bans Social Media for Children Under 16

In a world-first move, Australia has banned social media access for children under 16, with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube required to block accounts. The law, which carries fines up to A$49.5 million for non-compliance, aims to protect young people from online harm and mental health risks. The government's eSafety Commissioner will enforce the new age restrictions.
