Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now offering two of OpenAI’s open‑weight foundation models—gpt‑oss‑120B and gpt‑oss‑20B—via Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker JumpStart, marking the first time AWS hosts OpenAI models publicly. Optimized for reasoning, coding, and agentic workflows, these models run efficiently on a single GPU or laptop and deliver substantial cost advantages over Gemini and DeepSeek. The move broadens AWS’s AI marketplace beyond Microsoft’s exclusive OpenAI partnership.
