Deep Space Gamble: NASA Enlists Eric Schmidt’s Rocket Startup for Mars

NASA has contracted Relativity Space—a 3D-printing rocket manufacturer owned by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt—to launch its 2028 "Aeolus" Mars atmospheric mission. While the public-private partnership aims to cut costs, analysts view it as a major risk. Relativity is largely unproven in the orbital market, its debut rocket failed in 2023, and it has just two years to finalize the vehicle.
