Google’s Quantum Processor Observes First-Ever Floquet Topologically Ordered State
A collaboration between Google Quantum AI, Princeton University, and Technical University of Munich used a 58-qubit quantum processor to realize and directly observe a Floquet topologically ordered state, an exotic quantum phase only theorized previously. By rhythmically driving the system, researchers imaged edge particle motions and saw “exotic particles” transform in real time.
