Google's 'Willow' Chip Achieves Quantum Advantage
Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a breakthrough in quantum computing, stating the company's Willow chip achieved the first-ever verifiable quantum advantage. Running a new algorithm called Quantum Echoes, the chip was 13,000 times faster than the best classical supercomputer algorithm. The breakthrough, published in Nature, paves the way for potential real-world applications in areas like drug discovery and materials science.
