India Accelerates Electronics Manufacturing and AI Development

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted India's robust growth in electronics manufacturing, citing a 17% CAGR and a 20% increase in exports over the past five years. The sector now employs approximately 2.5 million people, predominantly women. Vaishnaw emphasized India's commitment to developing indigenous AI models, leveraging its compute power and talent pool. He also announced plans to produce the country's first 'Made in India' semiconductor chip this year.
