India Mandates Cybersecurity Audits for Crypto Exchanges to Enhance Data Protection

The Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND) has directed all Virtual Digital Asset Service Providers (VDA SPs), including cryptocurrency exchanges, wallet services, and peer-to-peer platforms, to undergo cybersecurity audits. These audits must be conducted by auditors empanelled with the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). This move aims to bolster the cybersecurity framework within India's digital asset ecosystem.
