Karnataka to Finalize New IT Policy by July, Aiming Beyond Bengaluru

Karnataka’s IT Minister Priyank Kharge announced that the state’s new IT policy—successor to the 2020–25 plan—is expected to be finalized by July 2025. Key focus areas include reskilling the digital workforce, extending infrastructure to Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 cities, and simplifying regulations. The draft, shaped by consultations with NASSCOM and the IT Vision Group, will include initiatives such as a ₹50 crore Centre for Applied AI, ₹300 crore startup fund, and ₹100 crore deep‑tech corpus.
