Lyten Acquires Europe’s Largest BESS Factory in Poland to Accelerate Energy Storage Expansion

Silicon Valley startup Lyten is acquiring Northvolt’s Dwa ESS facility in Gdansk, Poland—Europe’s largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) plant, with 6 GWh capacity (expandable to 10 GWh). Closed since November 2024 following Northvolt’s bankruptcy, Lyten plans to immediately restart operations to deliver on orders through 2026. This strategic move advances its lithium-sulfur BESS rollout across Europe. Deal expected to close in Q3 2025; financial terms were not disclosed.
