Nexterity Builds a Remote-Controlled Robot to Automate Dangerous Pipefitting Tasks

Nexterity has developed a battery-powered, remote-controlled robot that automates the physically demanding job of loosening and tightening bolted pipe joints. The robot fits around pipes, moves along them, and handles four bolts at a time. Designed for common pipe sizes, it can fit in a Pelican case and be carried by one worker. Nexterity plans to offer the robots as rental construction equipment.
