Sam Altman Launches Neuralink Rival 'Merge Labs'

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is reportedly co-founding Merge Labs, a brain-computer interface (BCI) startup aiming to compete directly with Elon Musk's Neuralink. Neuralink is seeking an $850 million valuation, with likely funding from OpenAI's venture arm. The new company is focused on developing less invasive, high-bandwidth BCIs to accelerate the integration of human thought and artificial intelligence.
