South Korea's Proposed Curbs on Teen Social Media Use

The nominee for South Korea's media regulator, Kim Jong-cheol, announced he will pursue restrictions on social media use for teenagers. He told parliament this is a key priority to protect young people and maintain a "safe and orderly" online environment. This proposal reflects rising global concerns over youth safety, following a similar, recent ban implemented in Australia for children under 16.
