The FCC has granted Amazon a crucial deadline waiver to deploy its Project Kuiper internet satellites, ignoring formal protests from chief rival SpaceX.Amazon admitted it would miss the July 30 interim deadline to have half of its first-generation constellation operational. However, the FCC ruled that enforcing strict penalties would harm American consumers by stalling broadband competition, giving Amazon until July 2029 to fully deploy the system.
