Italy's antitrust authority has launched an investigation into Microsoft over alleged unfair, aggressive commercial practices regarding Microsoft 365 subscription price hikes. Regulators claim Microsoft failed to clearly inform users that the higher fees were tied to newly integrated AI tools like Copilot and Designer. Instead of getting a choice, consumers were automatically moved to the costlier plans by default unless they actively opted out.
