SEC Retracts Case: Civil Insider Trading Lawsuit Dropped After Presidential Pardon

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) formally moved to dismiss its civil insider trading suit against a former healthcare executive following a full presidential pardon from Donald Trump. After the executive’s criminal conviction was wiped out by executive clemency, federal regulators determined that continuing parallel civil enforcement actions was no longer viable, effectively ending all federal proceedings against the individual.
