India’s Customs department is being urged to expand its use of AI, machine learning, and real-time analytics to reduce transaction and cargo-dwell costs for businesses. The goal is to create a near-touchless, paperless customs experience, particularly for trusted taxpayers. Better data integration and predictive tools could also improve compliance, speed up cargo processing, and support MSMEs.
