Google Lets AI Agents Control Smart Home Devices Through Google Home

Google is giving AI agents access to Google Home devices through an early-access Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Compatible agents can use natural-language commands to control devices, review camera summaries, monitor activity, and access smart-home history. The feature supports devices including Nest doorbells, thermostats, lights, and Matter-compatible products. It is initially rolling out in the U.S. to Google Home Premium Advanced subscribers.
