Intel is in advanced talks to acquire AI chip startup SambaNova Systems for approximately $1.6 billion, including debt. This strategic move aims to significantly strengthen Intel’s offerings in the high-performance AI hardware market, challenging rivals like Nvidia. The Palo Alto-based company, which designs custom AI chips, was valued at $5 billion in 2021.
