Meta Layoffs: AI Automation Reduces Need for Compliance Roles
Meta's Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, Michel Protti, informed staff that the company is eliminating roles in its risk division due to advancements in internal automation. In an internal memo, Protti stated that Meta's shift from manual reviews to consistent, automated processes for risk and compliance means, "we don't need as many roles in some areas as we once did." This move is part of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's broader strategy to make Meta a leaner, AI-driven organization.
