German cloud provider IONOS has secured a four-year framework contract worth up to €67.5 million to build a sovereign collaboration platform for schools across six federal states. Utilizing Nextcloud’s open-source suite and hosted entirely within domestic data centers, the initiative aims to reduce public education's reliance on major US tech giants and enhance data privacy for hundreds of thousands of students and teachers.
