Columbia Student Raises $5.3M for AI Startup Cluely After Suspension Over Cheating Tool
Chungin "Roy" Lee, a former Columbia University student, has secured $5.3 million in seed funding for his AI startup, Cluely, which offers tools designed to assist users during exams, job interviews, and sales calls via a concealed in-browser window. Previously suspended from Columbia for sharing unauthorized disciplinary documents related to his initial tool, Interview Coder, Lee and co-founder Neel Shanmugam have since relocated to San Francisco to expand their venture.
