Google Invests in Carbon Capture to Power Midwest Data Centers

Google has made its first corporate agreement to purchase electricity from a U.S. power plant utilizing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology. This deal will help power its rapidly expanding data centers in the Midwest. The facility, a 400-megawatt gas power plant in Decatur, Illinois, will capture about 90% of its CO2 emissions, supporting the tech giant's clean energy goals.
