OpenAI & Oracle Boost Stargate with 4.5 GW AI Data Center Expansion
OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their Stargate joint venture by adding 4.5 gigawatts of new AI-focused data center capacity in the U.S.—raising the total to over 5 GW and powering more than 2 million chips. This initiative builds on their $500 billion, 10 GW Stargate project, recently launched in Abilene, Texas, and aims to reinforce U.S. leadership in AI infrastructure amid global competition.
