Power Plug Pulled: NTPC Cancels ₹413 Crore Battery Storage Contract

State-run NTPC terminated a ₹413.37 crore contract awarded to G R Infraprojects for setting up a 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at its Mouda thermal plant. The termination followed execution delays and failure to meet contractual milestones. While G R Infraprojects announced plans to seek legal recourse, NTPC is expected to re-tender the project to support its grid-balancing efforts.
