US Appeals Court Rejects Google’s Bid to Delay Epic Games–Led Play Store Reforms

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied Google’s request to further pause a court order mandating major reforms to the Play Store in its lawsuit with Epic Games. Google must now allow rival app stores, permit third-party payment systems, and open its app catalog to competitors. Some changes are required within 30 days, others within 10 months. The company is considering appealing to the Supreme Court.
