India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) reprimanded SpiceJet for revealing a last-minute settlement with aircraft lessor Aviator ML just as rulings were to be pronounced on eight long-pending insolvency petitions. Criticizing the parties for wasting precious judicial time, the bench deferred its decision on Aviator ML’s ₹58.64 crore default case, alongside seven related lessor petitions, to assess the impact of the sudden deal.
