Deep Blue Upgrade: Microsoft Plunges Undersea for India’s AI Boom

A Microsoft-backed consortium, including Singapore's Lightstorm, Tata Communications, and Singtel, is building a 3,600 km undersea cable named I-2SEA. Connecting India (Andhra Pradesh) with Malaysia and Singapore, the network aims to fuel booming AI, cloud, and hyperscale workloads. It is scheduled to go live by late 2029 to capture India's exploding data market.
