IndiaAI to Support Eight Homegrown Firms with Incentives for Foundational AI Models

Under its IndiaAI Mission, the Indian government will soon extend incentives to nearly eight domestic firms building foundational AI models. Among expected beneficiaries is BharatGen, an IIT-anchored consortium behind the bilingual model Param-1. Earlier rounds under the ₹1,500 crore scheme saw Sarvam, Soket Labs, Gnani.ai, and Gan.ai selected.
