Door Closes, Window Opens: Manitoba Scraps Direct PR Pathway for International Graduates

Manitoba has immediately retired the Career Employment Pathway (CEP) under its international student stream, ending a direct track to permanent residency.The government aims to better align immigration with local labor needs. Affected graduates must now transition to the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway, which requires at least six months of local work experience to be prioritized in future draws. Master’s and doctoral graduates under the internship pathway remain unaffected.
