Apple Watch Gets FDA Clearance for Hypertension Alerts
Apple has won U.S. FDA clearance for a new hypertension detection feature on the Apple Watch, set to roll out next week. The tool uses the optical heart-sensor to monitor how blood vessels respond to heartbeats over 30 days, alerting users to potential high blood pressure. While not perfect, it’s expected to help around one million people. The feature will be available on Series 9, 10, 11 and Ultra 2 & 3 watches, in 150 countries.
