Australia's Tough New Social Media Age Ban

Meta and TikTok have confirmed they will comply with Australia’s landmark law, set for December 10, forcing platforms to remove users under the age of 16. While agreeing to abide by the ban, the tech giants warned the sweeping restrictions will be challenging to enforce. Companies violating the law face fines of up to A$49.5 million (US$32 million).
