Huawei's Mate 80 Handset Powered by Improved China-Made Kirin Chip

Huawei's newest flagship Mate 80 handset features the Kirin 9030, an improved China-made chip manufactured by SMIC using a 7-nanometer (N+3) process, according to TechInsights. While still behind TSMC and Samsung’s 5nm technology, the successful domestic production highlights China’s significant progress in semiconductor self-sufficiency despite ongoing international sanctions.
