Indian IT Hiring Slumps as US Tariff Uncertainty Derails Outsourcing Demand

India’s IT sector has sharply cut its hiring outlook for the July-December period, with projections now down to 1–3% growth, from the earlier 3–5%, according to TeamLease and other staffing firms. The drop is primarily driven by weakening global outsourcing demand amid fears of impending US tariffs. Software engineer roles are particularly affected, while hiring in emerging tech fields still shows modest strength.
